4yr. old granddaughter loves this! Especially the songs and light. – Lovely little sound machine with a lot of sound options and some great little songs/music to choose from. Has nice sound to it in general. My granddaughter likes the music the best (even has one Christmas song on it), she can operate this unit without help. It does have a child lock – but that’s for babies so they don’t accidental change the settings. A 4 yr. old can figure that lock out and turn it off. There is a total lock out button too, so that when you pack this for travel it doesn’t accidentally turn on – as you press the volume button to turn this on, so any pressure while packed would turn it on – so nice to be able to lock out the power.

A little tricky – I have several sound machines. Most work and perform similarly. This one was a little more tricky to use. It didn’t want to turn on. It finally did. I don’t know what was going on with it. I feel this one because of the design doesn’t give off as much light as others. It’s cute, but if you’re wanting maximum light, this isn’t the one for that. The light only comes from the little circle where the moon is. This one does have a string so you can hang it off sometime. Because of that, and the design itself, it looks more like something to hang in a nursery. It’s cute, good for travel, and good if you only need a little extra light.

With 27 Sounds I Hoped I Would Like Some Of Them Better – My 3 year old started sleeping with a music box basically from birth. Her original white noise machine has finally bitten the dust after 3 years of use. I loved the look of this one so I was really hopeful this would be a great replacement for her original one. First this one has the nightlight feature which was really nice. The light worked as expected and my daughter loves that she can choose a color each night before she goes to sleep. She was quickly able to figure out how to operate it by herself. The unit has lots of buttons which is kind of annoying but I got used to it eventually.
