It’s ok if you like the noise of a fan instead of white noise – I am an insomniac. It is extremely difficult for me to fall asleep, but if I do, the slightest noise will wake me up so a sleep machine is a lifesaver for me. Unfortunately I left my favorite sound machine ( one I had for almost 10 years with no issues) on vacation overseas so it was lost for good. I tried replacing it with the same same machine ( a Conair ) but at double the price and half the sound quality and loudness level , I sent it back. I like my sound machines LOUD. I put them right next to me on my nightstand, so after trying several other machines ( to no avail) , I decided to give this one a try. Although the volume does get loud with the fan option, I hate the grinding sound of a fan and much prefer white noise. The white noise on this machine does not get loud at all. So when I do use it as a back up I use the fan part of it. I kept the machine because it has a battery back up and I live in a country where our power dies often, so I needed a machine with a battery option, but it’s not a machine I would recommend if you live in the city and I don’t have a problem with Power. There are better options out there, but they don’t have a battery option. However, if you like the fan sound of a sound machine this one should work for you.

Great Little Machine! – Bought three of these for sound privacy for school offices and faculty room. Teachers LOVE the ocean surf sounds in faculty room, very relaxing but also helps with noise and privacy! The ones in the offices give each person over 40 sounds to pick and the volume control is excellent! You can have it run 24/7 or set it to shut off after a period of time. Great deal and great product!

Best noise machine for sleep that I’ve had – This thing is great. I’ve used those Dohm round noise machines before, but they only make white noise, and they started having problems after a while. I think dust can get sucked into the interior fan mechanism and affect the noise quality. So when I started looking for a new noise machine I knew I wanted a different type, and what sold me on this one was the amount of white, pink, brown, and fan options. And those are great! It’s awesome to be able to get so specific with the type of white noise you want. But once I started trying out the other sound options (it comes with a lot!), I ended up falling asleep quickly to two of the rain sounds and even one of the flute options. I’ve never liked those options on other machines in the past, but this one is just so soothing and relaxing, and you can make really small adjustments to the volume to get it exactly right. And if you have it on a relatively low volume setting, it can’t even be heard by people just a few feet away. Of course, it also works as a noise blocker when using it for privacy, which I do for online work meetings so no one else in the house can hear them. Basically, I love this thing. It’s perfect for me, it was a low price, and given how much it’s already helped me sleep, I can’t recommend it enough. If this review ends up helping any other insomniacs then it’s worth it!
