Works fine for me. – I think this works okay if you understand to try different locations on your face. Does not work at all on my forehead, but very consistent on my temple.

Easy to use but not very consistent/accurate – I purchased this for my 90-year old mother, so wanted something easy to use. It is perfect in that respect. You do not have to choose between F and C, you do not have to choose an age. There’s just one button and that is it. Nothing to set incorrectly. that part is great. I tested it out before giving to my mother. It never registers the same reading twice, and the variances can be significant. Also, the readings are always below normal, usually around the 97 range. So, as a broad indicator of fever or lack thereof, it can serves a purpose. If it reads 98.6, I know I must have a fever. I looked through reviews of all the other competitors and it appears they are all like this, so if you want simplicity, this is the best you’ll find in this price range. I am sure there are professional instruments that are more accurate but who wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a thermometer?

Very inaccurate – I have 3 other thermometers and they all measure withing a 0.1 to 0.3 degree difference between each-other. This one would typically show a 1-3F lower temperature than the other 3. So you can totally miss it if your child has a mild fever for example.
